Rushing to the office one Friday morning, running late as almost always, a motorbike that swerved past our jeepney caught my attention. It bore no plate. And I thought, that one should be caught and penalized. It wasn’t right.
With that thought, I scanned through the vehicles passing through that same road block. I was specifically searching for their respective plates. I was feeling like a police on the lookout for troublemakers. What then dawned on me is how plate numbers are relatively very much like people in general.
One, they are unique. No two vehicles bear the same plate number. As with people, no two people are alike in exactly the same blueprint. Two, they are coded. One would know which vehicle is registered in which place by the initials they bear. As with people, with their own verbal and physical languages, they speak a great deal on which part of the universe they are from. Third, they give identification. Each plate identifies the owner of the vehicle. Each person identifies his Creator.``
